Burn beautifully. Burn safely.

A little care helps your candle burn more evenly and perform at its best from the first light to the final burn.

The First Burn Matters

Allow the wax to melt evenly across most of the surface during the first burn. Depending on the candle size, this will generally take two to four hours and helps reduce tunneling during future burns.

Never burn a candle for more than four hours at a time.

Trim Your Wick

Before each burn, trim cotton wicks to approximately 1/4 inch and wooden wicks to approximately 1/8 inch.

Remove wick trimmings, matches, and other debris from the wax before lighting. A properly trimmed wick helps control the flame and reduces excessive smoke or soot.

Choose the Right Location

Place your candle on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, fans, air vents, and open windows.

Keep burning candles at least 12 inches away from curtains, books, bedding, plants, decorations, and other flammable materials.

Burn Within Sight

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles away from children and pets, and do not move or handle a candle while the wax is melted or the vessel is hot.

Watch the Flame

Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes unusually high, begins flickering continuously, or produces excessive smoke. Allow the candle to cool completely, trim the wick, and check for debris before relighting.

Know When to Stop

Discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. Continuing to burn a candle with too little wax can cause the container to become excessively hot.

Reuse Your Vessel

Once the candle is finished and completely cool, remove the remaining wax and wick hardware. Clean and repurpose the glass or cement vessel for jewelry, desk essentials, small keepsakes, or simple décor.
